FROM THE PASTOR'S PEN

In Matthew, Chapter 24, Jesus warned us that the last days before His return would be terrible for this
planet. He warned of wars and rumors of war, nations rising against nations and kingdoms warring with
one another. He told us that there would famine and pestilence and earthquakes in many different
places.

Today we are witnessing these things taking place. Tsunamis are particularly devastating. Just a few
weeks ago, we witnessed hail stones the size of baseballs in our area. A lot of damage was done to
individuals' cars and homes. This week, tornadoes in the South have claimed over 300 lives with the
death toll expected to rise. Our nation averages 160 tornadoes this time of year but this year the figure
has risen to over 600 and the season for these storms is not over.

I firmly believe that we are witnessing the birth‐pangs of the Kingdom of God. This is only the tip of the
iceberg and things are going to get much worse. Gas is pushing $5 a gallon; the cost of food in February
alone rose the most in over 30 years. A family's budget must now use 15% of its income just for gas and
food.

The whole Middle East is in turmoil. Dictators of some of these countries are killing their own citizens in
the streets. Iran is trying to develop the Atomic Bomb. They have let the world know that their ultimate
intention is to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

Are you safe? Are you secure? If you have a personal relationship with Christ, you are. If not, you are in
a situation that offers no hope. Things are only going to get worse. Jesus is coming and if your name is
in the Book of Life, you will be rescued from the worst that going to happen. I urge you to kneel at the
foot of His cross, proclaim Him Lord and live your life for Him.
